- 5 lbs. bagged SMALL gold potatoes
- Serving size: 1 cup diced, mashed or baked, or 1 medium potato
- 5 lbs. gold potatoes contain roughly 8 servings
- NOTE: Gold Potatoes are best used when you want them to hold their shape after the cooking process. This could include boiling, roasting, or slicing and layering within a dish. Dishes these type of potatoes are best used for would be potato salad, roasted whole (if small) or in pieces, au gratin, etc. We recommend russet potatoes if you're looking to make mashed potatoes.
- Potato benefits:
- Potatoes contain no fat, sodium, or cholesterol, and they provide nearly half of the recommended daily value of vitamin C.
- Potatoes contain more potassium than a banana and are a great source of vitamin B6.
- Potatoes are a nutrient-dense complex carbohydrate, a medium skin-on potato provides 26 grams of carbs which is 9% of the daily value per serving.
- Research shows consuming potato puree during prolonged exercise works just as well as commercial carbohydrate gels in sustaining blood glucose levels and boosting performance in trained athletes.

Too small
It would have taken all day to perl for a pot of mashed potatos From Capital City Fruit: We are sorry your potatoes were small to peel. We also love mashed potatoes and would love to provide potatoes that fit your needs! Red and Gold Potatoes are best used when you want them to hold their shape after the cooking process. This could include boiling, roasting, or slicing and layering within a dish. Dishes these type of potatoes are best used for would be potato salad, roasted whole (if small) or in pieces, au gratin, etc. Mashed potatoes and baked potatoes are typically made from russet or Idaho potatoes because they naturally want to break down into smaller pieces. We offer russet potatoes on Farm Produce Direct and recommend purchasing those next time to make delicious mashed potatoes! Please reach out with any additional questions--we would love to help!
